Don't drink while eating, this is the danger

Eating is a process of fulfilling nutrients for our body. In addition, by eating, our body will return fresh and energized, after we do the activity. But sometimes, many make mistakes while eating.


Not because the food menu is served, but the way we eat. This tends to be adab - the procedure - eating, which can cause us to be overweight, easily sleepy, so that food is not digested optimally.

1. Eat while standing
Citing a statement from one of the practicing doctors at the Jakarta Islamic Hospital (RSIJ), "In a state of standing, the nerves of the body are in a tense state, and it is not worth taking food or drinks." Likewise with the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad, which requires Muslim faithful to eat and drink while sitting.

In addition to these meanings, eating while sitting also causes our stomach to quickly fill, so that excessive eating can be avoided. And obesity can be avoided. So it doesn't hurt for you to start stopping eating or drinking habits while standing.

2. Meal time
The body has a biological clock, which adapts to the activities we do. The more energy needed, the more often we have to eat food. Based on the Prophet's hadith which reads, "eat before you are hungry and stop before you are full."

Of course this indicates that we should not overeat, as we know, obesity is increasingly being found, not least for small children. Due to excessive food, and it can cause many risks of developing diseases, ranging from diabetes, heart disease, to high blood pressure.

3. Chew quickly
This is one habit that must be avoided. When we put food into the mouth, digestion has begun. In the mouth, food will be digested mechanically by teeth and biologically by enzymes. Chewing slowly and long time, can destroy food substances better, and also avoid stomach work which can cause stomach problems.

4. Drink water while eating
This is one habit that is not good, the article is, drinking during a meal can cause backflow from the stomach. Professor Hiromi Syinya MD who is an enzyme expert in Albert Einstein medicine suggests in his book, to drink water an hour before eating.

When eating, we also have to avoid drinking with sweet water, be it coffee, tea or other drinks. Also avoid consuming tea after eating, because it can cause nutrients not absorbed properly by the body.

5. Eat fruit after eating
This is a mistake often made by many people. Eating fruit after a heavy meal, can cause fruit to ferment or rot in the digestive tract. And it is recommended to eat fruit before eating heavily, this is also to reduce the burden of the intestine when digesting. In addition, nutrients and fiber in fruit can be absorbed properly.

6. Eat with a finger
Maybe many of us say, if eating with your fingers is very dirty, but you are wrong. Eating with three fingers is very good, and also helps with digestive problems. In addition, this is the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad SAW for his people. Because there is good in faith that we do when eating for the body.
